Provides individual and group counseling to students throughout the district as part of the MTSS, while coordinating a wraparound approach to treatment and care;Frequently collaborates with school administrative team and works cohesively with the counseling team and SEL departments throughout the district;Participates in Child Study Team meetings, including I&RS, 504, and IEP conferences, as an advocate for students and families;Liaises with stakeholders to foster relationships with providers to ensure the needs of students are met in a strengths-based approach including, but not limited to, the pediatric psychiatric collaborative partnership;Conducts risk assessments for harm to self or others, while collaborative with the counseling team and administrators on appropriate level of care and treatment to ensure student safety;Responsible for staff trainings and education on a variety of topics including but pertaining to considerations for student risk, well-being, and navigating the Children’s System of Care in New Jersey.

Maintains a caseload of 6-8 child and adolescent clients in a private practice setting and is responsible for case documentation, coordination with other mental health resources, liaising with client’s schools for additional support when warranted, submitting clinical summary templates, and providing family and parent support.

Liaises and consults directly with local, state, and school officials to advocate for preventative and upstream programming, as well as addressing gaps in services for at-risk populations;Assists with grant writing when necessary to support the initiatives of Monmouth County schools and MHA to promote student mental wellness through school-based programming;Creates, implements and delivers various suicide postvention, intervention, and prevention models and programming to schools and community agencies/resources;Responsible for all data analysis as it relates to all suicide prevention programming and effectiveness in schools;Develops relationships with community partners and key stakeholders to create and empower competent caring community models in high-risk areas;Master Lifelines trainer, delivering presentations and trainings across Monmouth County, providing traumatic loss response when requested.

Provides individual and group counseling to students in grades Pre-K through 8th grade, including potential at-risk assessments, mental health wellness concerns, and academic success;Collaborate with school administrative team and participates in meetings and/or case conferences;Works alongside teachers and Child Study Team to make recommendations and referrals for students in all grades while also ensuring that appropriate recommendations have been made and maintained;Encourages a wraparound approach to support for students, making referrals, collaborating with outside providers, consulting with agencies, and submitting reports and clinical summaries;Responsible for coordinating, implementing, and analyzing all aspects of student standardized testing using STAR Renaissance Testing throughout the school year;Oversees and supervises bachelor and graduate level social work interns;Implements and directs social emotional learning curriculum for all grade levels, as well as facilitating mental health and wellness related student presentations, adult awareness series, and staff training.

Responsible for teaching the College’s First Year Seminar (HUD 107) to high school age students in a competitive, accelerated program in Neptune, New Jersey, as well as to college freshman on the school’s main campus, focusing on goal setting, values, college community engagement, career planning, and overall adjustment to and success in college.

Maintains a caseload of 12-15 adolescents ages 10-17, meeting weekly to provide individual and family counseling services to stabilize family crises and help families return to baseline in a 16-week period;Collaborates with client’s schools to assist clients with truancy, behavioral and mental health issues, assists schools with recommendations for and implementation of individualized learning plans and accommodations for educational supports, meets with clients during school hours and works closely with school staff;Provides support when necessary to FCIU case manager when a youth is involved within the court system and/or may require a crisis petition;Completes assessments, progress notes, child behavior checklists, clinical summary templates, while working collaboratively with community resources to link families with appropriate services for client’s needed level of care;Facilitates Teen Tactics, an 8/16-week psychoeducational group for middle/high school students.

Developed and created content in conjunction with Clinical Director, including but not limited to: research projects and articles for publication, Lifelines curriculum updates, and Making Educators Partners in Youth Suicide Prevention: Act on FACTS online and live training.Directly managed and implemented the rollout of organization programming nationwide while liaising with community stakeholders on local, state, and national levels to develop competent communities and collaborative partnerships to help achieve mission of reducing youth suicides and attempted suicides through Best Practice and Evidence Based programming.Manages and evaluates programs through states who have received Garrett Lee Smith (GLS) Suicide Prevention Federal Grants and implements programs nationwide for the purposes of grant requirements.Implement, manage and coordinate SPTS Youth Council, comprised of over 60 high school students; hold monthly meetings, set agendas and budgets, and oversee public awareness and fundraising projects. Event and program director for annual Youth Wellness Summit for high school students in Monmouth & Ocean counties to promote resiliency and wellness; presents to students and staff on suicide prevention, coping skills, and wellness.
