Before I was old enough to work (and even after I had a part-time job) I volunteered at the Forsyth County Humane Society and AARF in Winston-Salem. Both of these positions I loved doing so much that I eventually got a job at a veterinary hospital as a kennel assistant. This continued my experience of working with animals and tending to their every day needs. In college I studied environmental science that focused on geology and plants. In that path, I had a general education theme of animal studies. I worked at the farmers market for a year, every Saturday. I loved this job as it allowed me to connect to local farmers and people that bring prosperity to my local community.
