Nicole Stackhouse holds a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy and is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music in piano. Stackhouse, an Oklahoma native, has performed internationally in recitals, masterclasses, and competitions. She was selected for OBU’s Concerto-Aria Concert, won the Nancy Neal Scholarship Audition, and was selected as an honorable mention in OU’s Donna Turner Smith Piano Competition. Additionally, Stackhouse performed in a masterclass and recital at the annual Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria.During her undergraduate studies at Oklahoma Baptist University, Stackhouse graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the President’s Honor Roll, Who's Who, Phi Eta Sigma, and was vice-president of Sigma Alpha Iota. At The University of Oklahoma, Stackhouse completed her graduate studies in Piano Performance and Pedagogy, holding a graduate assistantship in piano while being active in OU’s collegiate chapter of MTNA. Stackhouse frequently participated in academic presentations given by the chapter and co-presented several times, including the 2013 MTNA National Conference and a first-place poster session at OU’s Graduate Research and Performance Day.After successfully completing her studies at OU, Stackhouse served as the Director of Piano at Infinity Music Arts Academy in Norman, OK where she built a sizable studio and her students scored exceptionally well at local and state auditions. In 2016, Stackhouse became a faculty member at Randall University in Moore, where she taught a number of music courses, all while maintaining her studio with over a 97% retention rate. In 2017, Stackhouse accepted a teaching position at Classen School of Advanced Studies as the Director of the Middle School Piano Department where she taught group piano courses for middle school and high school students, and helped redesign the 7-year piano major curriculum. In 2022, she moved back to Shawnee with her husband, Dr. Brian Stackhouse, who is the Director of Athletic Bands at OBU.Stackhouse enjoys teaching both children and adults; she designs a unique and comprehensive curriculum for each of her piano students, focusing on building a healthy, functional technique, solid reading skills, artistry, and a love of music to help each student enjoy playing piano for a lifetime. Stackhouse maintains an active performance schedule as a highly sought-after accompanist, and in piano ensemble performances with her duet partner.Stackhouse is both an Oklahoma State Certified Teacher and a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music in Piano.
