As an Animal Health Manager at Simpson Farms, I assist to oversee the daily operations and performance of a 1200-cow dairy farm. I am responsible for managing health and safety, animal health and welfare, pasture and staff. I have more than six years of experience in dairy farming, having worked as a Farm Assistant at Drumlea Farms and Corbineyre Farms before joining Simpson Farms in 2019. I have also completed several qualifications in Primary Industries Business Management, Production Management, and Lameness Management from Primary ITO and Dairy Hoofcare Institute. I am currently pursuing a Diploma in Ambulance Practice from St John, as I have a passion for helping people and learning new skills. I have a Certificate in Veterinary Nursing from Wintec, which gives me valuable laboratory and clinical skills. My core competencies include pasture management, animal husbandry, laboratory skills, team leadership, problem-solving, and communication. I am committed to producing high-quality milk, while ensuring the sustainability and profitability of the farm. I enjoy working with a diverse and supportive team, and learning new skills and technologies to improve the efficiency and safety of the farm.
