Deputy Director
CurrentI manage and oversee the agency’s transportation, environment, and community development programs, which includes determining community planning priorities, managing staff to fulfill technical needs of our work programs, and developing plans and projects to achieve a sustainable and thriving region. I am charged with finding innovative ways to connect local organizations and governments to funding, technical assistance, data resources, and opportunities to discuss trends and challenges affecting the Greater Lansing area.Tri-County's transportation program is responsible for channeling federal funds to local communities for road, transit, bicycle and pedestrian, safety, and operational improvement projects, implementing hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of investment into the region's transportation system. I lead the team in using data to analyze regional trends and create plans for the efficient movement of those who live, work, and play throughout the region.The community development program focuses on the economic vitality and meaningful development of the region's urban and rural communities through implementation of a region-wide economic development strategy. I connect organizations to federal and state funding for infrastructure and economic and workforce development projects, and build partnerships and collect data to tackle the region's most pressing challenges impacting economic prosperity and sustainable land use practices, including housing attainability.Tri-County's environmental program brings local communities together to promote regional water and air quality strategies that transcend political boundaries and fulfill local requirements for state and federal regulatory programs. I guide staff in providing technical assistance to local governments and educating the public on how to protect our environment's built and natural resources, including mobile emissions, stormwater, groundwater, surface waters, and drinking water infrastructure.
