I am responsible for risk selection, pricing, retention and profitability. Using independent judgment, I receive and analyze financial statements and conduct investigations (banks, credit checks, etc.) for new account submissions and renewal accounts, as well as underwrite and process bond riders. In order to monitor accounts, I develop and use various business profit reports. I create and maintain effective business relationships with Surety Producers and clients in order to attract and retain profitable business. I provide support for market products and services for both internal and external customers.

Provides support to Financial Product underwriters.• Gathers information on new and renewal business and change requests to support underwriter decision making. • Organizes the underwriting information to speed decision making on the part of the underwriter. • Analyzes financial statements for submissions that helps in determining contract surety work programs, transactional commercial bond approvals, etc.• Investigates discrepancies in the information gathered. • Researches questions from producers and principals as requested by underwriter(s).• Orders and analyzes miscellaneous business reports needed in the rating and underwriting processes, including credit checks, bank agreements, financial statements and underwriting surveys. • Applies underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules and insurance laws and regulations. • Develops and maintains effective business relationships with internal and external customers / coworkers in order to attract and retain profitable business. Defines business technology needs and requirements. • Analyzes, identifies and documents detailed descriptions of user requirements and program features. May include steps required to develop or modify computer applications. • Acts as liaison between business and IT. • Develops and maintains knowledge of business and technology solutions.

Processing and administrating payout annuities• Required to process claims based on appropriate guidelines on Fair Claim Practices, Interest on Claims and Fraud Reporting; Compliant with IRS and SEC regulations.• Provide courteous, prompt and accurate responses to inquiries from claimants, agents, brokers, third party administrators and employees from various departments within the company.• Knowledgeable about Trusts, Wills, Probate Estate Administration, and Small Estates.• Review, approve and authorize disposition of non-contestable Individual Pay-out Annuity claims up to $500,000.00.• Processed lump sum death claims as well as Variable and Payout Annuity options.• Collect on overpayments made from repetitive payment resulting from late notifications of death.• Required to follow-up, either in writing or verbally, with clients, agents and brokers to obtain claim requirements until claims are finalized.• Investigating potentially fraudulent claims• Identifying reasons why full payment may not be made.• Processed fund transfers for Variable Payout Annuity options. • Handles accounting corrections for annuity payments and or death claim payments.Defines business technology needs and requirements. • Implement advanced strategies for gathering, reviewing and analyzing requirements• Prioritize requirements and create conceptual prototypes and mock-ups• Master strategic business process modeling, traceability and quality management techniques• Apply best practices for effective communication and problem-solving
