About Nicole Lea

At the University of New Orleans, I worked in a Physical Chemistry research group, otherwise called The Chakravorty Group, where the team leverages computational methods to investigate dynamics and reactions of proteins, metals, and biomolecules. Through the usage of Linux opperating systems, we use corresponding software to run molecular dynamic simulations. Our teams interest lies in understanding protein-ligand, protein-complex, and protein-aggregate chemistry. Findings from this work will help identify the driving forces and the molecular origins of specificity in the bio-assembly of similar protein complexes and will find applications in the design of inhibitors of protein-protein interactions, protein-superstructure engineering, green-chemistry and bio-energy. All and all, we create virtual environments to examine infectious disease and human protein interactions using UNIX based applications. Previously at the University of New Orleans, I taught General Chemistry I&II lab, recitation, and worked as an on campus tutor over the course of four semesters. Each section of the labs (3 hour practical) and recitation (1 hour lecture review) meet once a week, and I was responsible for instilling safe labatory procedures, comprehensive teaching agendas, and keeping up with the student's attendance, grades, and success among many other responsibilities which correlate. I also worked before and after students arrived to further set up the experiment by constructing a model apparatus or by preparing the introductory solutions in congruence to the specific experiment for the week. Not only did I enjoy the opportunity, but the job experience was mutually beneficial for me as well and jumpstarted my career in the sciences.

Listed skills include Teaching, Powerpoint, English, Research, and 39 others.

As a researcher in Computational Chemistry, it was also imperative to keep up with the latest in Python languages and Linux operating systems. I was published for my research at the Innovate UNO conference, and this work can be reviewed both on Google Scholar and Scholar Works at UNO.Please review the following link:http://scholarworks.uno.edu/innovate/2015/posters/7/

Sales Floor Associate

3301 Veterans Memorial Boulevard In Metairie, Louisiana

My position held while employed as a floor model/sales associate at Abercrombie & Fitch entailed a number of job duties. In addition to showcasing fashions and accessories, floor models assist customers with sales and answer questions about products and merchandise. Some A&F locations may require floor models to operate cash registers and organize stock shelves and clothing racks, as well. Fashionable and personable workers typically perform well during the Abercrombie & Fitch hiring process. The company also manages a similar company in the mall, named Hollister and Co., where I would work also, when requested, in the event Hollister was short on staff for a particular evening.
