I am a passionate public servant with 10+ years experience managing, developing, and supporting programs and services for nonprofits and community organizations. As the Founder and Executive Director of Believe New York (BNY), a nonprofit dedicated to supporting those facing adversity such as mental health challenges, poverty, and domestic abuse, my work has been a pivotal force in bridging the gap in access to essential resources for marginalized populations in the NYC Metro area and beyond. I also proudly serve as the Operations Program Manager for the Transitioning Servicemember Suicide Prevention Center (TASC) at James J. Peters VA. Here, I support the operations and psychological research for a public-private partnership focused on reducing suicide in transitioning Service members and Veterans; a program titled ‘Veterans Sponsorship Initiative (VSI)’. I have a Masters in Psychology from Columbia University and a dual degree in Psychology and Human Development from SUNY Albany. In my career, I have worked with dozens of organizations, ranging from small to large. My work has spanned planning, developing, and evaluating programs, supporting operations, and various types of fundraising efforts. I have also worked at the NYS Legislature and the United Nations, where I have lobbied for women’s rights, Affordable Housing, Healthcare for All, and other lifesaving legislation for underserved and marginalized communities.My life mission is to improve social and economic policy and help people, especially populations who have lived through traumatic events, economic hardship, and/or social inequity, including but not limited to women, Veterans, the LGBTQ+ community, BIPOC populations, and individuals with physical and mental disabilities.
