I am the Institutional Review Board (IRB) Coordinator for the Department of Veterans Affairs in Long Beach, CA. I oversee the confidential institutional review and approval process of all research activities involving human subjects to protect their safety, rights, and welfare. Ethical standards and benefits must always outweigh the risks as the IRB evaluates and approves monthly studies. Along side my current Federal service, I am also a proud United States Air Force Veteran. As I was steadily promoted within Aviation Resource Management, I was awarded various achievements to include Airman of the Year for my entire base, Davis-Monthan AFB. I also received the Air Force Achievement Medal for taking on duties out of my rank, which immensely helped a newly assigned squadron's operations.I graduated with a 4.0, receiving a Masters of Science Management at University of Maryland University College in August 2018. I also have a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Sociology and Psychology from Cal State Dominguez Hills. Within my senior year of Undergrad work, I studied abroad at Christ University in Bangalore, India where I took several social science classes, while volunteering at local villages, slums, and various locations. Nothing can humble you more than to live in a different culture and give back to less fortunate communities. I take pride in all the work I do. It has been instilled in me to work hard and always go above and beyond. If there is a problem, I fix it. There is always room for improvement, even for myself, as I am always challenging myself.
