The CORE program at Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic is a medically supervised health and wellness program for the aging or inexperienced exerciser who may or may not have orthopaedic limitations. CORE focuses on developing programs to educate the community about public health concerns like fall prevention. As an intern, I am responsible for researching, developing, and presenting a community presentation that focuses on osteoporosis. • Research, plan, and develop a knowledge-based health intervention• Promote community health presentation through creation of flyers, bulletin boards, and fact sheets• Collect knowledge and awareness data about public health issues through community surveys• Compile and analyze three years of balance assessment data to evaluate effectiveness of program• Assist in wellness classes offered by CORE including Tai Chi and balance class.
