I have been a member of Meeting Professionals International, Gulf States Chapter since 2010, and served in a variety of volunteer roles on the Board of Directors since 2014. I served as Director of Communications, VP of Communications and then was elected as the Chapter President for the 2017-2018 operational year. In these roles I was able to harness and grow leadership skills that taught me how to operate and lead with a more strategic focus, how to write business plans and forecast budgets, how to empower and uplift my colleagues and to be a effective and enjoyable presenter. I sold and produced Destination Management and Meeting Management services to corporations and associations coming to New Orleans for their convention, meeting or incentive travel program.

I sold advertising opportunities to companies in Northern Virginia to be aired on local Cox Cable channels. This role allowed me interview business owners to learn about their growth goals and who their target audiences were. I would take this information and provide them with reports on what cable networks their target audiences were watching. I also got to assist with the creative ideas and script development for their comercials, and would often be present during filming day.
