Providing leadership in designing, coordinating and implementing outreach projects in food and agricultural law including collaborative work with other faculty members and/or students and disseminating results through scholarly journal articles, popular publications, social media, workshops, and presentations to both professional and lay audiences. Particular attention is given to limited resource, small, or socially-disadvantaged farmers, ranchers and producers with special emphasis on the Food Safety Modernization Act and other food and food safety laws, risk management, new and beginning farmer sustainability, urban agriculture, and intellectual property. Developing and supervising internships for students in food science and agricultural disciplines who are interested in pursuing law degrees.
