Guide the operation and performance of the Career, Alumni, Graduate + Fellowship and Veterans Programs - supporting the ongoing development and implementation of each of these initiatives including using data to further Posse's strategic goals.

• Manage national and international teams to support the implementation of innovative interventions, legal strategies and policies that advance the human rights of the criminally accused in countries around the world • Coordinate with local and national level government actors (judges, prosecutors, police, bar associations) and civil society organizations to pilot, assess and scale up programs that increase access to justice for marginalized people accused of crimes• Provide expertise to government agencies on the development of policies and regulations related to the creation of legal aid system and the effective administration of rights delivery mechanisms• Negotiate agreements with governments that support practical legal aid delivery mechanisms• Provide guidance and expertise on the development of performance standards consistent with global best practices and manage the adaptation and incorporation of these guidelines in ILF country offices• Develop and manage monitoring and evaluation systems including measuring quality indicators and conducting performance evaluations to ensure accountability, track improvement and measure impact consistent with program objectives and to create data driven evidence and research to improve access to justice through quality legal representation and systematic rights protections for marginalized people • Develop and implement program budgets for international programs

• Implemented legal strategies that protect and advance the human rights of the criminally accused in countries around the world• Developed juvenile justice and holistic representation programs in ILF global country programs• Engaged in ground up advocacy with community and justice sector actors including local bar associations, the Ministry of Justice, the Office of the Attorney General, the Ministry of the Interior and civil society organizations to increase access to justice for marginalized accused • Implemented intensive mentoring program for international staff lawyers – identifying litigation strategies with the goal of creating effective legal aid systems • Developed and implemented minimum performance and supervisory guidelines for legal aid offices around the world• Monitored and evaluated lawyer performance to provide strength based and goal oriented mentoring• Developed and implemented research and assessment tools – drafting comprehensive reports and evaluations with clear recommendations using gathered data and statistics

• Tried adult and juvenile felony criminal trials including homicide, aggravated assault, armed robbery, forgery, gun possession, mandatory drug distribution and rape • Represented clients in family court by filing and litigating child support, child custody, divorce and protection from abuse petitions • Researched and wrote civil action complaints, petitions/motions, answers/responses and memorandums of law for cases in orphans court on estate matters and in civil court on unlawful termination and tort issues • Represented clients through all phases of litigation from investigations to the pre-trial motions and discovery process through trial to sentencing and appeal• Managed office operations, consultations and interviews efficiently resulting in a high volume of new and returning clients and in client confidence and security

• Zealously advocated for indigent adults and children accused of crimes at all stages of the trial process beginning with preliminary hearings and misdemeanor trials and progressing to felony trials and sentencing hearings and expanding to violation of probation, county parole and state parole-board hearings • Researched state and federal constitutional and criminal law to successfully litigate pre-trial motions involving the 4th, 5th, 6th and 14th amendments; consistently deconstructed criminal laws in order to identify novel issues to litigate and to inform theories of defense at trial • Collaborated and consulted with fellow public defenders to develop trial strategies • Managed files to ensure that cases were investigated and that people received services in a timely manner
