The mission of Net Your Problem is to engage a variety of stakeholders and partners to create an economically viable pathway to recycle end of life fishing gear, improve waste management, contribute to the circular economy, and reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions related to virgin plastic production.We work with fishermen, recyclers and manufacturers to dispose of fishing nets by turning them into new plastic products with a great story and even better environmental footprint. We currently have operations in Alaska, California and Maine and are working on expanding globally. We rely on a list of unlikely partners that consider themselves stakeholders of the issues around waste management, recycling and plastic pollution. As of November 2020, we have recycled 880,000 lbs of fishing gear and are just getting started.
