* Acquiring and editing YA books for the Simon Pulse imprint that I am immensely proud of, working with incredibly talented authors to bring their visions to life. These include New York Times bestsellers, Love & Gelato, Love & Luck and The Wicked Deep, and a handful of books that have landed on the Indie's Next List and those that have gained multiple starred reviews and awards. * Working closely with the design team to develop concepts for covers and discover the best artistic talents that would represent the tone of the book, pop in the marketplace, and catch a reader’s eye in order to generate buzz and enthusiasm for the story. *Generating edit letters catered to specific authors and their needs in order to bring out the best of the authors I work with. I also am highly collaborative in my editorial process and am enthusiastic about the content and brainstorming stage while making myself readily available for authors during the drafting (and post-drafting) process to offer any support that I can.*Develop in house project by building on my home grown ideas, writing a detailed synopsis of the idea and, at times, writing sample pages to ensure a specific vision before auditioning authors and selecting an author that would be a perfect fit for the project.*Act as the in-house liaison for my author for the sales, publicity, marketing, design and production teams. From acquisition to the publication of a book, I keep open communication with authors and agents in all phases of the publishing process. *Responsible for big-picture strategizing for the imprint and discovering out-of-the box and creative ways to take advantage of the Simon Pulse back list, including successful reissues / bind ups / boxed sets.
