As someone who started off in acting, the early days of digital advertising were super fun. Then it started to burn me out. The speed at which new platforms and technologies came on the scene was dizzying and anxiety-inducing. I got into advertising for the art not the tech. So I figured it might be time to find another career. But before I could do that a friend in the building industry called me. He needed some help. In was 2010 and residential construction was still in the toilet. Something needed to change. It was a nice change of pace. Builders still used fax machines so tech burn-out wouldn’t be a problem. I worked with one Publisher. Then another Publisher. Then the NAHB’s Home Innovation Research Lab. (pronounced HURL). Then a manufacturer (Liftmaster). I tried my hand with all of it. But this industry really likes to focus on ‘the sticks and bricks.’ The creative storyteller in me was dying to do more. And so I found myself in a situation where I was once again thinking about a new career. Then the labor shortage happened. Mmh. Labor is about people. And for the building industry lack thereof is a human problem. A human problem that needs a better story. That’s when it hit me like me a ton of sticks and bricks. What if I combined Hollywood level storytelling with the precision of digital advertising and applied it to helping trade organizations, community colleges and trade businesses bring in more people via classes and jobs. So I started an ad agency that did just that. And the results have been pretty phenomenal. Over the last few years, → we’ve helped Community Colleges increase enrollment → we’ve helped Associations get new members to join their industry → we’ve helped Companies fill their talent pipelines. And we’re just getting started.
