While my career has been anything but orthodox, I have used it to my advantage to positively lead and impact corporate operations over the last 20 years. My undergrad was a B.A. in Psychology; I received an MBA with a concentration in Accounting and with Distinction as well as a Master of Finance and Accounting with Distinction from Keller Graduate School of Management. My leadership and management skills led to the move into a Director of Operations position with The Advisory Board. From there my career track shifted to accounting and then evolved into finance, which allowed me to do what I do best: identify problems and inefficiencies and deploy solutions to fix them.In the space of 2 years, I was promoted first to Revenue Manager / AR Manager and then Accounting Manager during a time of organizational turmoil and as the company was anticipating an IPO, successfully carving out the ABC accounting structure.I was recruited into the National League of Postmasters as an Accounting Manager, led the effort to automate the accounting function, and held accounting responsibilities for the League, Postmasters Benefit Plan, and NLPM PAC. In 2000, I was hired as the Controller by the Washington Speakers Bureau to build the accounting team post–acquisition. My success in growing that department into a strong, experienced 8–person accounting team led to a promotion to Director of Finance and HR, a position I held until 2012. My realignment efforts led to the creation of sales verticals that virtually eliminated turnover and drove revenue and renewal rate increases, despite a flailing economy. In 2013, I was recruited into VOX Global as Senior Director of Finance due to a relocation, I left VOX Global and was hired by Rego Consulting and within six months promoted to CFO and CHRO. Shortly after, I began to lead all our events. I have been a strategic and operational leader that helped grow Rego from under 50 employees to almost 200 within 5 years. In 2019, I joined Worldwide Speakers Group to head up people and finance as their SVP, of Finance and Human Resources. In 2020, I was promoted to COO/CFO helping lead all operational aspects of WWSG.
