Cancer Connection's mission is to bring together health and wellness resources for cancer patients residing in Southeast Alaska. They work to empower them to make sound decisions and choices with the goal of prolonging their quality of life, whether in time of crisis or recovery. I served as a member of the volunteer board of Cancer Connection from 2008-2015. I steered profit and loss responsibility for fund raising and programs, managed real estate holdings and travel funds, and conducted community outreach and awareness events throughout the southeast region of the state. I also collaborated with regional fundraisers and health care agencies to assist people living with cancer, their families, and support systems.
