I teach journalism with a digital dynamic at The Ohio State University, specializing in news reporting, editing, media law, feature writing, social media in journalism and multimedia journalism. My academic focus lies in the use of mobile technology in journalism and academics overall. My research explores how student-athletes specifically can use mobile technology to better connect with academics.I spent 20 years as a journalist, and public relations specialist, with expertise in magazine writing, political communications, writing for new media, crisis media, media marketing and usage of social media in the professional communications environment. Goals include continuing my efforts to understand, teach and enhance mobile technology in academis and multimedia journalism to foster better news dissemination, a more informed population and a higher quality of journalists in the new media world.Specialties: academic mobile technology, magazine writing, editing, social media, multimedia, media outreach and customer service, crisis media, messaging for non-profits, political media and outreach.In 2015 I was named an Apple Distinguished Educator.
