Managed the communications unit of SafeWork SA, the South Australian agency responsible for OHS and IR education, regulation and enforcement.During my time there, staff numbers ranged from 9-12 and the team was responsible for the agency's publications; media; advertising campaigns, website; graphic design and the annual Safe Work Australia Event and Awards.As manager, I led the team, as well as represented SWSA on national bodies and represented the communications unit on various internal working groups. When Great Southern Energy merged with Advance Energy and Northpower, there was a spill and fill of all positions. The company was set up with both a corporate structure, responsible for setting overall objectives, and eight regional teams, with day-to-day operational responsibilities. As Manager, Community Relations, I was responsible for stakeholder management in the Riverina region. Working closely with the Regional General Manager and the senior management team, I ensured Country Energy was seen as a good corporate citizen in the region. This involved managing our relationship with councils, business groups, community organisations and the media, as well as heading up two customer service centres (in Wagga Wagga and Young) and dealing with high-level customer complaints.

I was initially brought on board at Great Southern Energy to work on the promotion of the company to the ACT community and media in readiness for a potential merger with the ACT-owned ACTEW. When this merger fell through due to political reasons, I was hired as the Public Relations Manager.
