Started employment as the Front Desk Receptionist, checked patients in and out of the computer system, verified and updated the patients demographics, answered the phone and forwarded the calls to the correct person. I also floated between working in the front of the office to the back of the office as a Medical Assistant. In May of 2014 I was promoted to an Intake Specialist. With that job I evaluated the patients income to place them onto our sliding fee scale. This fee scale was a government assisted program twhich helped low income individuals and their families, receive office visits and lab orders at a discounted rate.
