Director of EDFlix - My purpose in this role is to bring affordable, sustainable, and high quality professional development to school districts through our virtual and on-demand platform. Associate Director of FIRST Education SOAR Center - Our center revolves around building significant relationships with students and colleagues, supporting students with optimizing emotions, developing academic tenacity and creating rigorous experiences for students. In my role as the Associate Director, I work with school administration to create personalized professional learning opportunities (virtual or in-person) to support staff with developing relationships with students, supporting student behaviors, social emotional learning, and academic excellence.

STEM Institute is an instrumentality, project-based learning charter school in Fond du Lac with a focus on STEM. We opened in 2013. The school was started from the ground up, so I've participated in: construction feedback, purchasing furniture and resources, a ton of school visits and creating all of our rubrics, assessments, team building, etc. Currently, we are adding on high school levels to our school.As a mentor teacher, I work with a small group of students (under 28) and help them walk through the project processes that we've set in place and align their interests and projects to the Common Core State Standards and other state and national standards. Projects will include the 4C's of education, plus trying to incorporate as many standards as possible. One of my main focuses at STEM, will be to help cultivate an open, caring community. I am also the ELA teacher for grades 6 and 7. Service learning and connecting with the community are also major aspects of our school. We believe in providing our students a rich opportunity to grow and succeed in our building and being out in their community. Our school has won the Fond du Lac Area of Association of Commerce Award in 2015 for being an innovative learning environment devoted to partnering with local businesses. We also won the 2016 Excellence in Manufacturing/K-12 Partnership Award.

I work with teachers individually, in small or large groups to increase their knowledge and use of technology in the classroom. We focus on Web based applications, sites and Google Apps for education. I also work closely with staff in regards to curriculum, assessments, active learning strategies, differentiation, and data analysis.

During my time as a Business Ed teacher, I primarily taught keyboarding and computer applications at the middle school level. I also taught Personal Finance for a semester. I was involved in: our Teaching and Learning Council, our Teacher Led Curriculum Team, PBIS committee (Tier 1 and Tier 2), Problem Solving Team, was our Career and Technical Education Team Leader and also worked as a Public Relations Co-Chair for the FEA for a few years.
