An advocate of good design and its inherent ability to enrich daily life, Nicole has an extensive creative portfolio. A Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Guelph included the option of spending a semester abroad attending London Polytechnic in England. Returning as a graduate to work for Derek Lovejoy + Partners, she gained valuable experience on projects ranging from large scale commercial and institutional developments to private residential gardens.Venturing west, she spent over a decade in Vancouver as a design consultant working on a wide variety of projects in British Columbia, the United States, Asia and the Middle East. The highlight of this time was the opportunity to work for Arthur Erickson Atelier which led to introductions and insight into many of the original designers of Canada's West Coast Modern Movement.Out of offices in Atlantic Canada, she has been responsible for the planning, design, and construction of projects in the public realm for both municipal and federal governments. Her portfolio there includes cultural destinations such as a new signage and interpretive program for Point Pleasant Park in Halifax and the redesign of the visitor experience at the Most Easterly Point of North America for Parks Canada. Awaiting construction is a unique Dark Sky Interpretive Site in Fundy National Park.Nicole is an idea person. Focused on the significance of place, sustainability, and the quality of our built environment, she works across disciplines leading teams from original concept through the construction of contemporary designs for public and private outdoor spaces. A successful collaborator, Nicole has the demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
