As Director, Nicole executes all external communications including the Network's digital and media presence. The role oversees the Outreach team, including event and partner resource programs.

Through 20-25 year solar project contracts, Secure Futures maintains long-term relationships with its customers. Therefore, maintaining customer relations is high-priority for Secure Futures. As the Customer Solutions Manager, Nicole manages all marketing, public relations, and performance analysis for customers regarding their solar arrays. Responsibilities include providing Annual Performance Reports, managing press and public relationships regarding the customer's project, seeking branding opportunities through events, awards, and marketing, and providing solar education collateral for all customers.As the Policy Coordinator, Nicoles works with a number of partners such as MDV-SEIA, the Distributed Solar Alliance, NCSEA, Appalachian Voices, and other stakeholders to remove barriers for distributed generation solar. In her first year of lobbying, Nicole saw the passage of the Virginia Clean Economy Act. Nicole also championed Virginia Crowdfunding legislation (SB 542 and HB 1339) with patrons Senator Edwards and Delegate Kilgore respectively. These bills sought the extension of crowdfunding for small businesses, and both passed unanimously in session.

As the Marketing Coordinator, Nicole managed company events, written collateral, digital marketing, and communications for the company. Nicole maintained a budget and ROI analysis for over 25 events throughout the year which included organizing speaking opportunities at conferences, organizing press events, and hosting educational events for customers. Nicole also maintained the website, blog, and all social media accounts for the company.

As the Assistant Project Coordinator Intern, Nicole took over responsibility for digital communications including the blog, email marketing campaign, and social media. Nicole conducted market research to increase ROI on all marketing efforts, and implemented marketing best practices which saw a sharp increase in ROI metrics for website traffic, social media engagement, and email subscribers.

As the Events Manager, Nicole served as interim Executive Director until the position was filled, running all operations of the Virginia Renewable Energy Alliance.Once the position was filled, Nicole trained the Executive Director to fulfill all operations until she transitioned to a full-time position with Secure Futures, in order to devote all of her energy into one team.

Nicole managed 40+ members of the Virginia Renewable Energy Alliance, facilitating the growth from 36 to nearly 50 members during her role. Nicole maintained all digital presences, coordinated communications between the Board of Directors, committees and members, and organized 3-4 annual events for members. Under the Executive Director, Nicole was a lead organizer of the inaugural Virginia Clean Energy Summit, which showcased 30+ sponsors, 70+ speakers, and 400+ attendees. Governor Northam was the keynote speaker and issued Executive Order 43 at the event. Nicole ran logistics for all sponsors, speakers, and attendees while coordinating the 4 co-hosts and managing all marketing materials for the event.

Greens to Grounds is a non-profit, student-run CSA (community supported agriculture) model bringing fresh, local produce and specialty items to the UVA community. The organization strives to foster a more sustainable relationship between UVA and Charlottesville food producers. Greens to Grounds seeks to provide students, faculty, and staff with access to fresh, seasonal, and local food on a weekly basis, while providing local farmers and artisans with dedicated support from the University community.

At Cultivate Charlottesville (formerly City Schoolyard Garden) we plant, grow and harvest with Charlottesville youth. Launched in 2010, our mission is to cultivate academic achievement, healthy living skills, environmental stewardship and community engagement through garden-based, experiential learning and leadership development. We manage organic schoolyard gardens and create experiential garden programming for over 3,750 urban youth and their families. Cultivate Charlottesville utilizes a collaborative, community approach by partnering with Charlottesville City Schools and over a dozen local organizations to bring community efforts together to coordinate and multiply impact and equity for youth, families and neighborhood schools facing economic challenges.

Duimstra served as Ambassador for the University of Virginia's launch of their bike share program. The UBike bike-sharing system is designed to get more students using bicycles without the commitment of bike ownership.
