Hi! I'm Nicole! I went to a local community college in my small town for a year before transferring to the University at Buffalo, where I graduated in 2013 with a BA in Linguistics.Now fast forward to 2024, and you're possibly wondering if I ever did anything with my degree? The answer is... not yet. I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, and depression after graduating college, which answered my own question of why I was always hesitant to work. I started medication, and then a few months later I got my first real job at Rite Aid. I became a pharmacy cashier, and learned that talking to people really isn't so bad after all. I've even had people thank me for being so upbeat and happy all the time.Cut back to 2016 and I relocate to Buffalo, NY and begin working at a Rite Aid store where everyone became my chosen family. This time I got to train to be a pharmacy technician through the Rite Aid Pharmacy Technician University and became a Rite Aid Certified Technician in 2017. I also took on the role of Wellness Ambassador, where I scheduled and traveled to flu clinics in the area with one of our pharmacists. Eventually my position was cut from Rite Aid and I moved to the front end to become a shift supervisor, and now assistant manager, helping out in pharmacy when I canNow, have I used my degree yet? Still no, but that's because I am always questioning what exactly I want to do. Then, in the summer of 2021 I was diagnosed with ADHD and everything I had ever questioned about why I couldn't do this or that was answered. I wasn't lazy like I thought (entirely), my brain is just wired differently. I am passionate about people and I look forward to hopefully attending graduate school in the future to fulfill my dream at becoming a speech therapist.
