A member-driven support & advocacy group for parents of children living with life-threatening food allergies. PVFAS was chaired by Nicole Sweeney of Longmeadow, with support from Lisa Holloway of Agawam, Lucy Saloio of Ludlow and Dr. Jonathan Bayuk, the group's medical advisor. The group met monthly at Randall's Farm in Ludlow, until their membership outgrew that space and they relocated to St. John's Church on Oak Street in Ludlow in 2009. Along with guest speakers, PVFAS also raised funds for Food Allergy non-profits. They were the 2nd largest New England fundraiser for Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE). PVFAS recieved endorsments from both FARE and the Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America for its work.
