I train nonprofit organizations and professionals in the areas of: diversity & inclusion, using social media for social change, developing legislative advocacy campaigns, trauma-informed care, and best practices for domestic and sexual violence survivor advocacy.Clients have included: Boston University School of Social Work, EmbraceRace, No More Secrets: Healing from Abuse, Surviving In Numbers, the Custody Awareness Collaborative, Massachusetts Office of Victim's Assistance, MA Council of Family Serving Agencies, Boston Medical Center, the Middlesex and Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, the OVW-funded Risk Assessment and Management Training Project (DVRAMTP), and Massachusetts Office of Victim's Assistance (MOVA).I have been invited to speak at the following forums in the areas of women of color in leadership, gender based violence, social entrepreneurship, social media for social change, careers in public policy:Colorado Public Radio, Amplify America, WGBH's Basic Black, Women with Purpose Boston, The Mass Conference on Women, Microsoft New England's Café Nights at the Roxbury Innovation Center's Female Founders, Teach for America's Entrepreneur's United Conference, the McCormack School Public Policy and Global Studies, and the Department of Public Health's Rural Domestic Violence Forum.

-Transitioned and managed remote team of resource advocates and navigators who provided crisis counseling and case management for survivors of domestic violence through the global pandemic. This included transitioning all of our service delivery methods to confidential, online platforms. -Oversaw the center's rapidly growing volunteer and intern program.-Significantly increased organizational capacity to work with more clients.-Built and improved numerous systems to manage client case work from the first point of contact through case management.-Oversaw victim services flow and manages day to day operations. In FY 2019, the Rose Andom Center provided services for over 1600 survivors of domestic violence and their families.-Provided comprehensive, strength-based, trauma-informed advocacy and excellent referrals for clients of the Rose Andom Center.-Continuously monitored and evaluated service delivery model to determine emerging needs and areas of improvement.-Developed supportive relationships and convened meetings with Rose Andom Center 16 + partner agencies, improved opportunities for and provided leadership to nurture and sustain those relationships.-Served as the direct services liaison to the Rose Andom Center and Denver Health Clinic, including developing systems to track data across organizations.-Identified and cultivated opportunities for expanded partnerships to better serve clients accessing the Rose Andom Center.-Oversaw training opportunities for staff and partners, including on-boarding and orientation for new staff, volunteers, and interns, as well as on-going staff development and cross training among partner agencies.

The Unitarian Universalist Urban Ministry is one of the oldest, non-sectarian social justice organizations in the country. Located in Roxbury, MA a historic black community with a rich and diverse story, the Urban Ministry seeks to unite communities and transform lives by bringing together people from different walks of life to work together toward justice and equality. As Director of Programs, I oversee three of the Urban Ministry's flagship programs: -Believe In Success: the area's only 13 week, trauma-informed workforce development program for survivors of intimate partner violence.-Renewal House: a domestic violence shelter that provides holistic, trauma-informed, healing-centered support for survivors of all genders, LGBTQ identified survivors, and bilingual (Spanish/English ) advocacy.-Roxbury Youth Program: An after school program that provides near-peer mentoring and academic support for students from the John D. O'Bryant School of Mathematics & Science. Additionally, we train youth to be historically informed, culturally relevant tour guides in the historic John Eliot Square, where they, "Learn History. Make Change."Key duties:-Supervise, coach, and train a staff of over 15, implementing best practices and procedures throughout the organization.-Ensure programmatic excellence by implementing measurement systems, setting standards, and tracking outcomes. -Design and launch the programmatic evaluation committees.-Build a diverse, inclusive equity-focused culture. -Develop and maintain partnerships in program-related fields. -Serve as liaison to the MA Office of Victim's Assistance, MA Dept. of Public Health, & Jane Doe Inc.- the MA Statewide Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence.-Support the organizational management of the Urban Ministry's large volunteer core. In FY '18 we had over 60 volunteers who supported our programs at all levels.

Manage all aspects of the Alliance’s MA state budget and legislative campaigns, establishing priorities and policy initiatives in coordination with coalition members and community partners. Advocate for local, state, and federal policies that effectively address issues relating to adolescent sexual health and teen parenthood. With board and staff, coordinate and implement an annual lobby day for youth and teen parent providers. Initiate and supervise research partnerships to develop new data-driven and evidence-based practices and policy efforts in the areas of public health and economic, health, and racial disparities. In FY' 18, the Alliance will produce a report analyzing economic, educational, and racial disparities against teen birth rates among the municipalities with the highest rates in the Commonwealth. This report will be the first of it's kind, and instrumental to supporting the work among those communities most at-risk. Support the federally-funded Office of Adolescent Health's (OAH) Teen Pregnancy Prevention Fund's (TPP) Partners for Youth Lawrence Program (PLY) through the following: organize and facilitate the Community Advisory Group (CAG); provide training and technical assistance to the implementation partners; and establish and coordinate strategic community-wide communications campaigns to strengthen community mobilization efforts, and raise awareness of the prevalence of teen pregnancy and resources available to youth and families.Develop organization-wide communications strategies that broaden programmatic reach and deepen impact with member programs including blogs, organizational newsletter and public policy alerts, monthly media campaigns, and organization-wide social network integration. Develop and refine the organization’s core messages to ensure name recognition and presence. Serve as the Alliance’s editor-in-chief and communications expert. Oversee and respond to inquiries about the organization including media and research.

New Leaders Council (NLC) is a 501(c)(3) that works to recruit, train and promote the progressive political entrepreneurs of tomorrow — trendsetters, elected officials and civically-engaged leaders in business and industry who will shape the future landscape. NLC recruits Fellows from outside traditional power structures and equips them with the skills necessary to be civic leaders in their communities and workplaces. NLC is creating an exciting network of individuals, highly-skilled in working together across sectors to improve the progressive infrastructure and ensure strong democracy, social justice, and equal opportunity.

Responsible for coordinating, supervising, and supporting over 40 medical advocates on sexual assault cases at over 10 hospitals in the greater Boston area. Also provided crisis counseling, emotional support, and referrals for survivor of sexual violence during forensic examinations.

BeVisible was the first career platform and social network for millennial Latino/a/xs. I was a co-founder and managed an international team of 10+ partners, who create engaging career-focused content, and build strategic partnerships with Latino organizations throughout the U.S. I was instrumental in changing the name from BeVisible Latina to BeVisible Latinx in order to make the company more inclusive. I interviewed Latina politicians throughout the U.S., sharing their wisdom with the next generation, and my articles have been featured in The Huffington Post, LatinasRepresent, Boston Latino Magazine, Project Enye, Latino Rebels, Medium, and Latina Lista. I was interviewed by Forbes, NPR, and Vivala for my insights on politics and women of color in leadership; was featured in Latina Magazine for my commentary on the use of the term 'Latinx', and was named by Mitú, as one of 5 Latinos using social media for social good.

Responsibilities included: practice consultation, in-service trainings, community relations, supervising the program's clinical interns, and provision of anti-oppression advocacy services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.Tasked with strengthening the hospital’s capacity to respond in a trauma-informed fashion.Represented the hospital as an active partner in community networks and collaborations, as well as developing and piloting support, empowerment, and wellness groups for survivors of interpersonal violence.Shaped the program’s transition to ETO ("Efforts to Outcomes", performance database management software).Trained community members, social service providers, graduate students, domestic and sexual assault advocates, victim's witness advocates, and legal and medical professionals on a range of domestic and sexual violence topics including: DV 101, trauma-informed care and practice, medical advocacy, history of the DV movement, faith & domestic violence, cultural competency, and using social media for social change.Received the Partners in Excellence Award, December 2015.

Created engaging, digital, non-partisan content including: blogs, online events, tool kits, digital assets, and podcasts to raise awareness on the need to have more Latinas in political office. LatinasRepresent was a joint initiative of Political Parity and the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda to call out the lack of elected Latinas and change the political landscape.

Provided administrative and organizational support to the Director of Public Policy at Jane Doe Inc., the MA Coalition Against Domestic & Sexual Violence. Primary efforts included: reviewing proposed legislation and preparing for the annual Legislative Advocacy Day at the MA State House.

Responsibilities included direct service advocacy, counseling, and case management for survivors of domestic violence in a city safety net hospital with a diverse, urban population that had above average rates of “high-lethality” domestic violence, immigration issues, substance abuse, and intergenerational poverty. Additional duties included training and capacity building of health care staff in order to ensure the provision of trauma-informed care. Provided expert technical assistance to the DV program and to the hospital on a survivor-centered response to sexual violence. Participated in citywide, systems advocacy working on the issues homelessness and emergency shelter policy work.

Coordinated Partners in Faith coalition, bridging faith and social justice advocacy communities. Organized and implemented restorative justice conferences/events. Served as a community organizer. Participated in public outreach to further the social change mission of Renewal House. Co-facilitated a mindfulness group for survivors of violence.

Responsibilities included direct service legal and medical advocacy for child and adult survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Worked as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of probation officers, DSS/DCF, the District Attorney’s Office, and the Ithaca Police Department on domestic violence and sexual assault cases. Served as a 24 hour hotline advocate, responding to emergency shelterings, police reports, and forensic examinations after hours and on weekends. Conducted outreach to local communities. Facilitated events that brought together faith and activist communities.
