    - Lead laboratory scientist for reverse translational studies of the clinical-stage monocarboxylate transporter inhibitor CYT-0851.- Utilized cellular- and molecular-based assays, including cell viability assays, generating stable over-expression cell models, western blot, and qPCR methods, to validate putative predictive and pharmacodynamic biomarkers for CYT-0851.- Performed gene set enrichment and over-expression analysis of preclinical RNA-seq and metabolomics data to identify novel predictive and pharmacodynamic biomarkers.- Worked collaboratively with Discovery and Platform Biology Groups to develop over-expression and knockdown/out cell models to perform MOA studies and test biomarker hypotheses for CYT-0851.- Worked with CROs to establish a clinical-use IHC assay, validate pharmacodynamic biomarkers using proteomic analyses, and produce custom antibodies for in-house validation studies.
  • Candiolo Cancer Institute Irccs
    Airc Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Candiolo Cancer Institute Irccs Feb 2018 - Dec 2021
    Candiolo, It
-Recepient of the Associazione Italiane per la Ricerca sul Cancro (AIRC) Post-Doctoral Fellowship which funded 3 years of research.- Established cell- and molecular-based techniques in the laboratory to characterize a composite biomarker to predict cellular response to clinical-stage ATR inhibitors (Durinikova E, Reilly NM, et al, Clinical Cancer Research, 2022), to measure DNA damage induction and functional loss of DNA repair pathways after EGFR and BRAF inhibition (Russo M, et al, Science, 2019), and to correlate DNA repair proficiency with cellular sensitivity to colibactin-induced genotoxic stress (Sogari et al, Cell Reports Medicine, 2024). -Formed a successful collaboration with an industry partner to investigate a clinical-stage molecule in clinically relevant colorectal cancer cellular and patient derived experimental models. - Utilized CRISPR-Cas9 technology to identify novel resistance mechanisms to standard-of-care therapy regimens used for the treatment of colorectal cancer. Candidates were validated using cell-based sensitivity assays, WB, and IF techniques.- Formed successful internal collaborations with fellow laboratory members and external collaborators with industry partners.- Mentored one master’s student (now PhD student) and one MD/PhD student.
  • University Of South Carolina
    Graduate Research Assistant
University Of South Carolina Jul 2012 - Jan 2018
    Columbia, Sc, Us
    - Utilized molecular mutagenesis tools, genetic complementation assays, immunofluorescence microscopy, and DNA damage repair assays to identify two lysine residues along the RAD51D protein which are required for cellular repair of DNA inter-strand crosslinks (Yard BD, Reilly NM, et al, DNA Repair, 2016) and further demonstrated that RAD51D functions to maintain telomere integrity in response to 6-thioguanine damage (Wyatt MD, Reilly NM, et al, Environmental and Molecular Mutagenesis, 2018). - Utilized microarray and RNA Seq bioinformatic technologies to characterize gene expression alterations and genomic fusions and translocations in Rad51d-deficient mouse embryonic fibroblast cells.- Mentored five undergraduate and two pharmacy students. - Presented twenty-eight abstracts, including three posters and two flash talks at the 2016 Environmental Mutagenesis and Genomics Society international conference.
