As the Development & Marketing Associate at Bridgewell, I worked closely with the Chief Development Officer to manage and implement all aspects of a robust donor-centered fund development and marketing program.By planning and developing a formal strategy and annual work plan, I supported new and ongoing communication and development programs including individual and corporate giving, grants, special events and planned giving.Additionally, I worked with other staff members to develop, produce and distribute Bridgewell’s electronic and hard copy marketing materials including press releases, newsletters, annual reports and more. I prepared content for and update the Bridgewell’s website, social media and internal employee intranet.

As Communications and Development Associate at MHSA, my role was to communicate the MHSA message and engage constituents in our mission.I organized a variety of different special events including the annual Spring Event, Young Professional events and awareness events such as Leadership Summit on Housing First to help inform individuals from the corporate, private and government sectors about Housing First and innovative solutions to ending homelessness. I was responsible for the MHSA Web site and monthly eNewsletter, where we inform member agencies, legislators, public officials and the general public about steps made in the movement to end homelessness.I communicated with member agencies statewide, assisted in member meeting planning and follow-up, tracked media involving homelessness, and acted as a liaison between MHSA and our statewide network of homeless service and housing providers.

As editor of the Title I Dissemination Project, I assisted in the coordination of the annual Title I conference located in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The conference is a professional development and networking opportunity for Title I teachers. Title I is part of No Child Left Behind and focuses on lower income families and improving parental involvement in school. As editor, I designed, wrote and edited all communication materials including the Exchange, a quarterly newsletter and conference publications such as the agenda and schedule.

As the Communications Assistant, I would direct media calls and engage in proactive media relations. My projects included writing, editing, researching and developing materials for distribution. I also assisted the national team cultivate earned media for the national event, Life@50+, which attracted more that 26,000 people at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.In addition, I updated media lists, managed press center and pitched local and community newspapers.
