501 (c)(3) nonprofit. Founded in January 2013, Nicolette Holferty had a vision in mind. Her love of knitting, motorcycles & people prompted her wonderful foundation. XOXO Hats For Strength. `As she was knitting a hat for cancer patients she started to play around with knit stitches, she noticed an XOXO pattern unfolding along the brim of the hat and thought to herself "May Your Precious Head Always Be Surrounded In Hugs and Kisses" and that's how XOXOHats.org was created. Year round a large group of women & men knit Nicolette's XOXO hat pattern for the cancer patients at Huntsman Cancer Institute. Bi-annually a group of Motorcyclists meet and Nicolette presents them each with a knitted XOXO hat. The biker's then put the hats in their vests close to their hearts and they ride up to the Huntsman Cancer Institute's Circle of Hope. Each biker parks their bike in the Circle of Hope and presents the nursing staff (who all wait for the biker's in the circle) with the XOXO hats. There is a fundraising event hours before the ride in which a cancer warrior is chosen and all proceeds from the days fundraiser goes to the warrior and their family to help with their medical needs. This is a very touching scene and there is never a dry eye in the large crowd of supporters. If you would like to help XOXOHats.org could use your generous donations.
