She started working in the Groninger Museum and had the opportunity to assist on the concept and execution of exhibitions and catalogues. In the next years she became curator, senior curator exhibitions and member of the Management Team. In this function, she worked closely with director Frans Haks on the new Groninger Museum, built by Alessandro Mendini.In 1995 she was appointed Project Manager Brand & Product Presentation of Philips Design in Eindhoven. In this international, commercial environment, more emphasis was put on marketing skills, which she studied at the Dutch Institute for Marketing. She was active as consultant and project leader in various internationally oriented design companies. In 2003 Nicolette started as Head Curator of Exhibitions at Museum Catharijneconvent in Utrecht. During this period a complete renovation and refurbishment of the permanent presentation was concluded and a new programming for the temporary exhibitions was developed and executed. From 2010 till 2016 Nicolette was appointed Director of Museum Jan Cunen and City Archive of Oss.The exhibition policy of the museum was focused on contemporary art, signaling of young artists and 19th Century art: e.g. Kruseman. Kunstbroeders uit de romantiek. Due to the artpolicy change of Oss, the museum got a new, local profile . Since 2016 Nicolette has been working for different cultural organizations as board member, advisor, project leader or ad interim director.
