I teach swim lessons to children 4 months - 12 years. I also work at our front desk scheduling classes and enrolling new students into our program.

Broadmoor School

I am a one-on-one aide with a camper in one of the advanced classrooms. I work with her throughout each day to encourage participation in activities as well as her own independence. There are about 11 students in our classroom, and I help out wherever else I can as well.

Cleveland/Akron, Ohio Area

I lead the Recreation Department in providing social and active opportunities for the individuals New Avenues serves. One component is planning large scale events for our entire population, including birthday celebrations, themed events, and other social gatherings. I also work with small groups or individuals on a one on one basis in our Therapy Room, working on games, puzzles, and other activities in a calm and focused environment. To promote active and healthy lifestyles, I take individuals swimming, on bike rides, and organize teams to participate in Special Olympics sports. I work very closely with our other therapies, and Community Relations department to promote positive experiences for our clientele, and a positive image for the community.

I am a part of the Outdoor Education Department. I work in rentals of seasonal recreation activities, both instructing people and partaking in customer service. Seasonal activities include cross country skiing, snow shoeing, stand up paddleboards, and kayaking. I also participate in Country Lights as an Elf in Santa's Workshop.

Mentor, Oh

As an intern, I have been shadowing admission counselors in informational sessions with prospective students and their families. After training and observation, I will be acting as the admission counselor for high school juniors who visit BW as a potential college option this spring. I will present them with the basic academic, social, financial and overview of the campus, as well as answer their questions.

I am one of the Co-Student Coordinators for the office of Undergraduate Admissions. I work with another student to be a liaison between student workers and admissions counselors. We put together the schedule, plan special events and take care of the hiring and training processes.

As a tour guide, I take prospective students and their families around campus, telling them about the academic and social opportunities that Baldwin Wallace has to offer. I also help out with large scale visit days where juniors and seniors in high school are taken around campus and throughout the city of Berea.
