From type anatomy, book formatting, and letterpress to UX, UI, and digital design, I’m comfortable designing for both print and screen.ADAPTABLEAt age 11, I moved to Boston from Taiwan, where I had to quickly learn English and adapt to an entirely new culture. In high school, I was required to learn yet another language, so I chose French. I couldn’t think of a way to give my native name a French twist, so I chose Nicole, a name I’ve been using ever since. SUPPORTIVEDuring the pandemic, I helped local businesses gain a solid footing through effective SEO and design strategies, inspiring me to focus my energy on small and medium-sized companies after 15+ years of working for Fortune 500 corporations. I recently taught English to Ukrainian refugees, which was especially empowering and rewarding after being an ESL student myself.MINIMALISTI like to envision ways to reduce visual noise while arriving at the essence of the image’s meaning, which is how I approach much of my work. As the pandemic wore on, it became clear that community and meaningful heartfelt connections needed to be prioritized.
