I am walking into my senior year at Seton Hall University's Stillman School of Business as a full time student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance. Determined to elevate my career, I am constantly looking for opportunities to continue learning and expanding my skill set. Aside from being a student and assistant manager, I am a family oriented person who comes from a latino household. Growing up my mom has instilled in me the importance behind family so when deciding to commit to Seton Hall University, South Orange became the community I wanted to make a second home. My first step in making this possible started when I joined the Association of Latino Professionals for America as their Director of Fundraising with a focus on community service. Committed to my mission, I reached out to the Center for Family Success in South Orange and we were able to organize a toy drive that gave back to over 25 families with over 100 toys. Working with donors such as Build-A-Bear workshop, Shoprite, and Dunkin Donuts, the toy drive provided these families with food, toiletry, and groceries aside from the toys.Events such as the toy drive have allowed me to not only create a family in South Orange but they have also tied me back to my family back home. With a preview of what’s possible, I have set goals that will help me grow further both academically and personally. These goals include learning something new everyday, expanding my network, and finding greater ways to continue giving back to my community.
