Ph.D. Student

Trento, Italia

During my Ph.D. research, I focussed on using Single-Photon Entanglement to develop quantum random number generation (QRNG) using integrated photonics. Through this research, I developed expertise in quantum information, quantum optics, and quantum photonics, which helped me enhance my abilities as an experimental physicist.Throughout my Ph.D., I performed various activities such as conceiving new experiments, planning laboratory activities, designing and building experimental setups, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and reporting and discussing them with my team. Additionally, I improved my abilities in designing photonic integrated circuits. My Ph.D. also allowed me to enhance my communication skills. I participated in various technical and non-technical conferences where I presented my research and wrote four papers in a peer-reviewed journal. The title of my thesis is: "A quantum entropy source based on Single Photon Entanglement."Moreover, I have successfully fulfilled the requirements for the Trans-disciplinary Program on Quantum Science and Technologies jointly run by the University of Trento Ph.D. Programmes in Physics, in Mathematics, in Materials, Mechatronics and Systems Engineering, in Information and Communication Technologies, in Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering, awarding the title of "Expertus in Quantum science and technologies." The trans-disciplinary program requires each student to follow specific courses and seminars on Quantum Mechanics topics and Quantum Technologies.
