As the Director of Engineering for the Traveler side of Marketplace, I'm supervising 7 teams responsible for Platform Engineering and the Search & Discovery part of the customer journey, where my direct reports are the EMs leading each team. I'm also responsible for aligning engineering initiatives with the company's overall business strategy, overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, and working closely with other departments such as product management, design, sales, and marketing to ensure that engineering efforts support the overall product vision and customer needs.

As VP of Engineering, I was responsible for the following areas:- growing and leading the engineering team to ensure a successful execution of the product vision, and enable the company to quickly run experiments to validate our customer problem hypotheses.- contributing to the company strategy, as part of the Careship leadership team.- acting as a primary point of contact to other departments (sales, customer support, marketing) to ensure that our product and engineering capabilities were aligned with their needs.

As a Director of Engineering, I had a full range of responsibilities that span across technical and employee related tasks:- I supervised the technical platform, consulting the teams on the development process and ensuring the quality of the technical outcome.- I discussed the company strategy with the rest of the management team and other stakeholders from the Global Fashion Group (our holding) in order to comply with the global roadmap and vision.- I co-coordinated, together with the product management team, the feature development of our products.- I led the education program of the developers by ensuring continuous learning and organising internal tech talks.- I kept the employees energised, motivated and ultimately happy by creating a favorable environment, removing obstacles and helping them fulfilling their wish for autonomy, mastery and purpose.- I managed people feedback, both continuous and in the form of half yearly talks.

I started as a software engineer in the Marketplace Solution (Seller Center) team of Rocket Internet.
