Project Angel Heart's vision is for all Coloradans living with severe illness to have access to nutritious food that supports their health and well-being. To that end, we compassionately deliver comfort and support through high-quality nutrition services, including medically tailored meals, while also advocating for the principles of “Food is Medicine.”In this role, I monitor public policy and legislative items pertinent to Project Angel Heart and coordinate the organization's stances, positions, and related advocacy efforts in tandem with the Executive Leadership Team. I cultivate and manage strategic and effective relationships with external constituents such as health care partners, government officials, and funders. I oversee Project Angel Heart's government grant program, including identifying and reviewing RFPs to vet viability, reviewing grant contracts to ensure compliance with requirements and regulations, and work across departments to collect data to draft proposals and reports, managing site visits and funder audits, and managing the government revenue budget.

The Burnes Center on Poverty and Homelessness provides scientifically-supported research, evaluation, training, technical assistance and community assessments on issues related to housing security and homelessness. Denver is engaged in the development of Tiny Home Villages to provide an alternative solution to homelessness. One theory behind tiny homes is they provide people experiencing homelessness an immediate, low-cost residence and a chance to build their own community, and some relative stability, within a neighborhood. In this role, I interviewed and surveyed Beloved Community Village stakeholders (residents, unhoused individuals, neighbors) to inform a comprehensive evaluation of the program.

Your Family, Your Neighborhood (YFYN) is a dual generation curriculum designed to address academic success, and improve the health and well-being of families living in subsidized housing communities. YFYN is a ten-session practice-based curriculum delivered to both parents and their children on site at their housing community. In this role, I implemented evidence-based 12-week programming in public housing sites throughout Denver to teach skills and strengthen relationships within the family, local schools, and housing community, and conducted focus groups and administered surveys to participants to measure outcomes of YFYN program.

Economic Mobility Pathways (EMPath), a Boston-based nonprofit innovator in breaking the cycle of poverty, uniquely combines direct service programs, independent research and public advocacy in its mission to transform lives by helping people move out of poverty and provide tools for other institutions to systematically do the same. In this role, I managed the day to day operations of a 58-family shelter including program development and oversight. I managed and supervised housing program staff, including scheduling, overseeing and implementing Mobility Mentoring residential services; managed quality initiatives and administrative responsibilities; upheld all contractual Department of Housing and Community Development and EMPath policies and procedures; and trained housing program staff to deliver high quality re-housing and Mobility Mentoring services using a trauma sensitive, coaching, and child centered orientation.
