As an experienced educator, an evidence-informed learning designer and a researcher in curriculum and pedagogy, I have a deep understanding of how people learn and retain information. I apply this expertise in curriculum and instructional design for both academic and corporate settings. I deeply care about learning. I truly believe that to be able to design effective instruction - be it for K-12 or higher education or for the corporate L&D industry, one must first understand how learning happens (cognitively) and we cannot achieve this without deeply engaging with the available evidence within the science of learning. As John Sweller (creator of Cognitive Load Theory) has beautifully said, "Without an understanding of human cognitive architecture, instruction is blind." In addition to my academic pursuits, I have worked as a registered occupational therapist, and a certified nutritional consultant, which has given me a diverse range of knowledge and expertise that I'm passionate about sharing with others. I apply this knowledge, unique expertise and range of experience in promoting patient literacy via microlearning content - content that is easily accessible, accurate and easy to understand. I am deeply committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of my work. I believe that everyone deserves equal access to education, healthcare, and opportunities to thrive, regardless of their background or identity. Through my work, I strive to create inclusive environments that value and respect diversity in all its forms. I actively seek out opportunities to learn from and collaborate with people from diverse backgrounds, and I am committed to using my platform to elevate underrepresented voices and promote social justice.I believe that collaboration is key to success, and I thrive in team settings where I can work with others to achieve common goals. Through my work, I aim to make a positive impact on the lives of those around me by using my unique skill set to improve learning outcomes, promote health and wellness, and enhance overall quality of life.I am passionate about applying my expertise in the Science of Learning to improve instructional design, promote patient literacy, and enhance overall quality of life. Through my commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, I aim to create inclusive environments where everyone has equal access to education, healthcare, and opportunities to thrive.

Principal ConsultantMicrolearning Consulting Feb 2022 - PresentI deeply care about learning and therefore I follow evidence-informed practice when designing instruction. I truly believe that the design of any instruction must begin with a deeper understanding of how learning happens. As Sweller has said, "Without an understanding of human cognitive architecture, instruction is blind." With this approach, I offer my expertise as an educator, researcher and content creator to make instruction better and more effective with optimal impact. My focus is to design evidence-informed microlearning that suits the learner while agreeing with the human cognitive architecture (aka the science of learning).
