- Worked on the Edge team to build the next-gen rate limiter for Twilio’s API and increase reliability for Twilio’s Web Edge. - API’s microservices run at a high scale of 10 billion API calls per week and average p99 latency <50ms- Subject-matter expert for the company-wide data store – a Tier-0 service containing website route configurations, account concurrency limits, and other vital operational data. Utilized AWS DynamoDB for data storage and AWS Kinesis Data Streams for cross-realm communication. - Combatted regular DDoS attacks and wrote the DDoS runbook for our teams’ on-call engineers.- Reduced DDoS customer impact to none by using AWS WAF rules, granular account & IP rate limiting, and data-based triaging.- Brought incident betterments on my team’s services from 15+ to 0 in 2022.- Onboarded 5+ team members & shouldered a significant portion of the on-call/flanker responsibilities during transition. - Led and executed thorough documentation efforts to streamline knowledge sharing and on-call preparation.- Wrote and tested new Terraform Infrastructure-as-a-code while overhauling the Web Proxy Deployment Infrastructure. - Utilized modern frameworks like gRPC and Envoy for speeding up service to service communications- Gained proficiency writing RESTful Web services using Java Dropwizard framework and Python Flask.

- Ideated & built a prototype of an intelligent UI for reading papers that is now being made into an open-source tool. Designed the citation algorithm to provide the most useful definitions to the UI. - Conducted research on how to automate the sharing of code for teaching purposes and professional presentations.

- Utilized Python packages like Scikit, Pandas, MatPlotlib, and NumPy to present analysis and predictions of data trends over time in the Jester datasets.- Over 6.5 million ratings have been collected over the years & 1700 research papers reference Jester datasets.- Predicted user joke ratings based on their demographics with 95% accuracy.
