- Drove strategic innovation as Director of Operations for 4,200 Soldiers deployed to Afghanistan as part of a multi-functional team. Authored a strategic alignment plan to apply resources against drivers of instability affecting efforts to transition to Afghan control in 2013. The effort identified four key problem sets consisting of 17 sub-objectives enabling Afghans to secure Kandahar independently. Over five months the process was so effective in that it allowed early transition of two previously unstable provinces to Afghan control with no loss of security or stability.- Excelled as Chief of Staff/Executive Officer of a 400-Soldier organization. Authored leader development, training, and education programs to train a staff of 14 inexperienced junior officers to achieve outstanding results. The staff was commended for performance during external evaluations at major training centers and validated through exceptional staff performance in Afghanistan. Performance resulted in selection for duty at next higher echelon from 16 qualified candidates.- As a company commander of 130 Soldiers in Iraq 2006, applied emotional intelligence and cross-cultural negotiation skills to reconcile Iraqi Police, Army, and Tribal leaders in a unified effort to bring stability to an area with over 40,000 residents during the high point of violence in Iraq. The effort was later used as a case study of effective planning and organization of stability operations highlighted in published books and professional journals.- Selected among the top .1% of Army Officers for exclusive executive development opportunity as the Aide-de-Camp to the commander of U.S. Army Pacific.
