The main tasks consist of:- Developing new products- Provide support to and work closely with QC, Production, Procurement and Maintenance.- Screening of new raw materials with the aim of improving costs and continuously searching for alternative, available raw materials.- Testing with a view to reducing production costs and improving process.This with a view to upgrading existing products in order to meet the requirements set by the internal and external customer environment and thus help achieve profit targets and structural growth.- Developing new products at the request of customers and/or sales in order to contribute to the coverage of new application areas.- Being part of the HACCP team and supporting the audits.- Communication with the sales team regarding new developments and technical support.- Visiting customers with the sales team to introduce new products.- Cost calculations for new developments.- Create process forms for new products.

In the context of my master thesis, I did my internship at AB InBev located in Hoegaarden. My subject was the stabilisation of the the turbidity and the elimination of sedimentation in Hoegaarden wheat beer: the EBC turbidity is an important parameter in the Hoegaarden wheat beer brewing process. Efforts were made to achieve a more stable turbidity by shorter follow-up and optimization of the centrifuge. And the second part dealt with the sporadic presence of unwanted sediment in the beer. Research is done on the influence and correlation with protein levels of malt and wheat, yeast mortality, fermentation times, process changes and number of generations of yeast used.

For my bachelor thesis the subject given to us was the "Quantification of vitamin D2 and vitamin K1 in algae Spirulina with HPLC-UV"
