I’m very passionate about finding new solutions that create value for companies, which furthermore causes worth for their customers. Innovation and knowledge management in groups of highly professionals has always been fascinating to me – when you can share a common purpose, things start happening for real.Over 30 years of interdisciplinary work within R&D, industrial production, and sensors physics. Having degrees and experience within business and engineering have been essential for the journey of SonoSteam.SonoSteam is a green non-chemical disinfection technology I invented in 2001. In 2006, I had the chance to lead and develop this unmatured technology. We started as a brand-new organization, thereby using all the support from a well-established organization and still framing entrepreneurship, bringing in new competencies to finally introducing a new product to a new market. SonoSteam is used in Scandinavian hospitals to disinfect hospital mattresses and transport boxes, and six installations are processing 6 million chickens per week. Thereby reducing the risk of Campylobacter, saving lives and costs for society. SANOVO Technologies bought SonoSteam in 2020. The start of my career gave me many years of experience within sensor technologies and embedded systems. Today it is covered by the terms IoT and Industry 4.0. For example, one project was to develop a Welding Cell to produce the second stage rocket nozzle for ESA Ariane 6 rocket.Later, five years as head of the R&D department within FORCE Technology, managing 45 engineers and technical persons, including three dedicated salespersons, and covering several internal and external development projects with each project manager. I brought FORCE Technology into the Danish Space Program through negotiations with ESA, Volo Aero Space, and the Danish Ministry of Education. We also developed a next-generation multi-channel NDT system with combined ultrasound and eddy current. This equipment supported the transition at FORCE towards the emerging windmill business.All the above have given me a practical knowledge of development – both incremental, fitted for stage-gate project management, but particularly disruptive innovations with much higher uncertainty where more agile approaches make sense. In addition, I quickly understand new technologies and complex problems. Finally, I am experienced in implementation and acknowledging the customers’ needs and barriers to new technology - the crucial point of whether a technology ends up as a success or not.
