Niels Ackermann is a Swiss documentary photographer working for the international press since 2007 and a founding member of agency Lundi13. After four years based in Ukraine, he's now back in Geneva, Switzerland.His first long-term project, The White Angel, was published by Éditions Noir sur Blanc in 2016 and has received several awards and presented at numerous exhibitions around the world. His second project: Looking for Lenin, produced with the French journalist Sébastien Gobert, was published by Fuel Publishing (London) and Les Éditions Noir sur Blanc and exhibited for the first time at the Rencontres de la Photographie d'Arles. Niels also regularly partners with social, environmental and cultural institutions through documentary projects and workshops. He also frequently gives conferences and workshops on documentary photography, freelance work and the financing of documentary projects.In addition to his photographic career, Niels also holds a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Geneva. He regularly uses statistical instruments as part of his documentary projects or personal research.
