Utilising an adaptable and collaborative style I currently lead a small team managing a range of key objectives, including taking the lead on Indigenous Education Consultative Meeting Secretariat, supporting establishment of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Council, and policy advice for the SES and Minister on Closing the Gap measures, as well as drafting inputs for Closing the Gap reporting, Joint Working Group on Closing the Gap as well as evidence-based discussion papers on Closing the Gap for the department’s Strategic Policy Branch.Working for nine years in Early Childhood and Child Care Group I developed a strong understanding of the international education environment often drafting inputs to United Nations and G20 meetings and reports as well as a range of other international matters such as Ministerial attendance at overseas events. I provided expert analysis as the primary conduit of the large number of international matters that came to via International Group. I undertook this role as part of a broader responsibility leading a small team managing Cluster coordination, where I was relied upon to develop more detailed briefings for the Minister’s Office and other Departments on a broad range of topics, including Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) produced publications such as Education at a Glance, Education Policy Outlook, Starting Strong Early Childhood Education and Care data spotlight, and OECD’s Network on Early Childhood Education and Care.
