Nigel trained as a chartered accountant with KPMG in Birmingham and spent two years in Australia. During the late 80's and early 90's he specialised in Corporate Recovery work as a licensed insolvency practitioner, becoming a partner in Robson Rhodes. During the late 90's Nigel specialised in Corporate Finance with Ernst & Young and carried out major re-organisations such as that of Railtrack. In 2002 he joined the Pertemps Group, being appointed to the main board in 2003 and took responsibility for the Treasury function as well as extensive M&A work. Nigel became group finance director in 2004. Nigel also became finance director of Network Group Holdings Plc and led the sale of Pertemps People Development Group for an enterprise value of £43m.He was the senior non-executive director of Media Square plc (an AIM listed company) and has also served on the Regional Council of the West Midlands CBI. Having left Pertemps and Network Group Holdings Plc in early 2009 he remains a consultant to those companies as well as a consultant to Forward Group.Nigel is a non-executive director of Victoria Travel Group that operates Europe's leading cruise website www.cruise.co.uk. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Secantor Limited at the end of 2009. Secantor has a pedigree specialising in high power "on demand" finance directors to the SME sector.We have now expanded to provide HR, Health & Safety, IT and Marketing support.We use our strategic and sector expertise to help SMEs fulfil their growth ambitions. We often revamp the finance function resulting in a forward looking approach rather than a focus on historical information. We employ a best team approach to deliver, and act as part of an extended mangement team. We are more than consultants, we roll our sleeves up and implement. We empathise with family businesses, many of whom are clients.My passion is partnering with entrepreneurs and business leaders to help realise their ambitions.

This is where I formed my love of outsourcing. We did a lot of start ups with really experienced recruiters that wanted to run their own business. Actually it was easy, all they needed to do was "sell" and "grow their team"...we would do the rest. I would sit on their Board as a NED, hopefully to find opportunities for them......it worked!
