Since leaving school, I have worked in the engineering sector, mainly electronics and automotive and have developed a range of skills during the 35 years.As well as completing mechanical and electronics certificates, I also have a varied background in working for start-up companies, Automotive manufacturers and tier-1 suppliers.I am currently in an educational setting, training engineering apprentices in subjects such as electronics assembly and test, Health and Safety, Business Improvement/ Efficiency, Mechanical Measurement and Communication skills. In this role I have created schemes of work, lesson plans and assessments. As part of my role I assess practical and theory work as well as providing constructive feedback to assist the learners growth.In addition to working with post 16 learners, I have spent time teaching in a secondary school setting as well as being governor to a primary school for 14 years.I am a big believer in promoting STEM. engineering and look to have an involvement in local schools.
