The ability to understand our customers’ needs enables me to respond accordingly to Industry Consultations such as the National Measurement Office consultation on guidance about the “500 watt” rule. I am also a regular contributor to consultations on change proposals from both the Distribution Connection & Use of System Agreement (DCUSA), and the Balancing & Settlement Code (BSC) managed by Elexon, often by membership of working groups. In addition to the Unmetered Supplies activity, I undertook the role of Lifetime Connections Engineer assisting in the provision and maintenance of Connection Agreements for customers with large metered connections to the two networks, including Connection Agreements for embedded Generators and Independent Networks. During this period I was a member of the Unmetered Supplies User Group established under the BSC as an UMS expert to advise and debate issues with regard to the trading arrangements for Unmetered Supplies.
