I worked as a GP in this busy clinic with additional outreach ' communities' like Warralong. I started to appreciate the difficulties and problems facing an Aboriginal Medical Service not only from its clients, but also from the management Board who have never run a medical practice before. This proved to be very frustrating for a husband and wife team who have run private and NHS clinics all their working lives.

I worked in private practice and learnt how Australians want to take control of their own health. I 'found' Aboriginal Health more wanting of my skills. A marvelous introduction to the Medicare Billing system and world of finance.

The only GP on the island. A wonderful medical experience treating Indigenous folk with every kind of problem. Had an amazing pharmacist to help out, and between us we overcame the inherent shortages of working remotely. i would have stayed for ever except for the up and coming anarchy of the younger generation. Having all my medical equipment stolen was just one example of this.
