My practice is currently split between employment law (both litigious and advisory) and associated commercial and contract work including:• Injunctions relating to the abuse of confidential information, competitor businesses and moving directors/ senior employees, • Insolvency, acting predominantly for the bankrupt or insolvent company (frequently in relation misfeasance claims brought by Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs), • Company shareholder disputes, • Company Directors’ disqualification proceedings, • Property (including claims relating to guarantees and brought against mortgages), • Disciplinary claims and related claims in Negligence.I undertake lectures for professional bodies, commercial organisations, Government agencies and advisory bodies (such as ACAS).From approximately 1996, I was retained Counsel by Clinton Cards PLC (until the point that it went into administration).I am retained Counsel to Voyage Care- a health care organisation employing 8000 odd employees.I have been retained since 2017 by the largest European producer of licensed confectionery and chocolate products. I am appointed by the National Procurement Service to provide legal services to all local authorities in Wales in the areas of chancery, civil, commercial, company, data protection, employment, freedom of information and insolvency lawI have been instructed by a firm in Jersey over a period of years, in relation to employment/commercial matters, where the application of extant UK legislation, newly introduced to the island has been under consideration.

I undertook a mix of chancery and common law work. My principal areas of practice included chancery (including claims arising under legal mortgages, property and professional negligence). I also was retained by various local authorities to undertake housing, landlord and tenant and judicial review work. Public law in its widest sense was also a component of my practice as was personal injury (both Claimant and Defendant). I received instructions from both top 25 firms and High Street firms, with approximately 25% of my work then being publicly funded.

Pupilled to Anthony Callaway and Brian Hurst; the former largely undertook general common law work whereas the latter had a practice which was principally one of banking and insurance law.
