I acted as the Office in Charge of the Lynx simulator facility at RNAS Yeovilton.• We lead the training and assessment of student aircrew undergoing Aircraft and Operational Conversion to the Maritime Lynx by use of the Lynx Synthetic training devices.• We have 15 devices ranging from SBT units to the utilisation of 2 Full Mission Simulators • We provide continuation training for all Maritime Lynx aircrew and additionally support the conversion of Lynx aircrew from one Mark to another. • We ensure that the synthetic training devices are kept at the correct aircraft modification state raising comprehensive Statements of requirement to enhance the fidelity of flying training. • We are responsible for reviewing the training needs within the Lynx training system, proposing changes as necessary and participating in the identification of the synthetic training requirements for SATURN/Wildcat/FRC. • We liaise with other simulation facilities and Navy Cmd HQ to ensure that ‘best practice’ is being applied in the Lynx Helicopter Force. • We lead the team who selects the Flight crew and arrange presentation of the CAE sponsored Simulator Award on an annual basis.

A CFS agent I was responsible for maintenance of aviation standards within the Maritime Lynx helicopter Force.I was a CFS Agent for Lynx 3 & 8, Merlin 1 and Sea King 4/5 &7 and Jetstream (Sadly Missed). Additionally, we examined the aircrew of other nations such as Portugal and MalaysiaAccountable for the mentoring and coaching of Instructors as well as conducting annual and periodic assessments on all Helicopter Observers and Aircrewmen. I additionally conducted examinations on Instructors as part of their upgrades.
